Every kid needs only one caring adult to help them achieve their success story. 

·        Be that adult  Youth Directions & Alternatives (YDA), your local community and youth agency since 1972, in partnership with the office of Legislator William Spencer, is seeking volunteers for a new mentoring program. 

·        Mentors and Mentees will meet in a team setting at YDA’s Northport location (324 Main St). The program will begin in January 2018 and will meet Wednesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.  The group will not meet during school vacations or over the summer.

Middle School

YDA After School is a two hour program where students do homework for the first hour of the program and during the second hour enjoy recreation and other activities designed to improve their social skills. Youth must have a permission slip to attend. This program is limited to 15 students. This activity meets at Boyd Intermediate School and begins on October 10th, 2017. Please note: this program does NOT meet on 10/31, 11/7, 12/5, 3/15 and 5/8!

Middle School

Make cool crafts and fun treats after school with YDA! Projects to include Halloween slime, leaf painting, galaxy jars, lava lamps, snow globes and more! The cost of this program is $25. Creative Creations meets at Northport YDA (324 Main St) and runs January 18th through March 15, 2018 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm.
