Elwood & Harborfields

High School

Local artist Anu Annam along with the Huntington Arts Council present Comic Book Club! Read and discuss comics. Then, write and draw your own! This is a free program featuring industry and gallery represented artists! This group meets at YDA's Northport location(324 Main St) and is open to high school students in the Northport/East Northport, Elwood & Harborfields School District.

YDA staff work collaboratively with school staff to facilitate a one-weekend retreat and school meetings where students become trained to be effective communicators/helpers. Students learn to use appropriate communication skills to help their peers explore alternatives, possible consequences, and to encourage them to make responsible decisions.

Middle School

YDA After School is a two hour program where students do homework for the first hour of the program and during the second hour enjoy recreation and other activities designed to improve their social skills. Youth must have a permission slip to attend. This program is limited to 15 students. This activity meets at Boyd Intermediate School and begins on October 11th, 2016.

Join YDA as we explore new novels as well as discussing your personal favorites. This program meets every Thursday and is co facilitated with Northport Middle School Librarian Mrs. Jenkins!
